James E. Tisdale, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS

James Tisdale is the president of ACCP. In his keynote address to the Symposium, DR. Tisdale will tell how Clinical pharmacy activities may influence and reshape the cardiovascular pharmacotherapy and that Clinical pharmacists have the potential to implement and influence drug-related policies, i.e., making decisions on which drugs deserve to be marketed, which drugs should be included in national and local formularies, which prescribing policies and treatment guidelines should be implemented. Dr. Tisdale will highlight how Clinical pharmacists are also actively involved in clinical trials at different levels: participating in ethical committees; study monitoring; dispensation and preparation of investigational drugs. Dr. Tisdale will also put some indepth into the growing prescribing authority for pharmacist and how this could signify the current role of clinical pharmacist in patient medical care.
